– According to The Wrestling Observer, the upcoming WWE television network is one of the main reasons for the "WWE" re-branding move with the idea being that the company does not want its own network viewed as simply a "pro wrestling channel." WWE plans to air new scripted programming in addition to back episodes and matches that the company has in its library, in addition to shows which don't have TV deals like NXT and Superstars. Apparently WWE is using The YES Network as a template/example channel for its new network.
