Jim Cornette, who is in the ring, calls out the three men who will compete in the triple threat match for the ROH World title on the first night of Showdown in the Sun. First out is Roderick Strong, who is with Truth Martini and Michael Elgin. Eddie Edwards is out next, followed by ROH World Champion Davey Richards. Davey Richards starts out by saying that he doesn't trust Strong or his former partner Edwards, which Edwards takes exception with. Strong claims that if he doesn't win the triple threat, that Elgin will give him his shot at Richards on the second night of Showdown in the Sun. Before Elgin can confirm or deny Strong's statement, ROH TV Champion Jay Lethal makes his way out to the ring. Lethal claims that he is done waiting for things to be given to him and that he is going to take what he deserves. The music of "Wrestling's Worst Nightmare" Kevin Steen hits and out he comes. He tells Jim Cornette that even if he doesn't get a title match at Showdown in the Sun, he will eventually become the ROH World Champion and he will be Cornette's own personal never ending nightmare.

Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander vs. Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas

The match starts out with Benjamin playing with Coleman and disrespecting him. Coleman quickly uses this to get the upper hand for his team. The continued disrespect on the part of Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team toward Coleman & Alexander continues throughout most of the match, even though Coleman and Alexander do get in a large amount of offense, including dual dives to the outside. The conclusion of the match saw Coleman held up on the top rope by Haas, has Benjamin prepared for a leap of faith. When Benjamin ran off the opposite side of the ropes, Alexander stopped him and as the referee turned around to see what was going on, the Briscoes came out and hit Haas with a chair to the head allowing Coleman to pick up the victory.

Winners: via pinfall Coleman & Alexander (8:40)

Adam Cole vs. "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin w/Truth Martini

This is the second of four March Mayhem qualifiers to earn a spot in a fatal four way match on the weekend of April 7th TV tapings, with twenty-four thousand dollar grand prize on the line. The beginning of the match saw Cole use speed and high-flying maneuvers to counter the power moves of Elgin. The end of the match came when Roderick Strong tried to interfere on Elgin's behalf but it backfired when he attempted an enziguri but instead of hitting Cole he hit Elgin and Cole won with a quick roll up. This is the second week in a row that the House of Truth have cost each other matches on ROH TV.
