WWE Royal Rumble Winner, New Champion Crowned, Surprise Returns

- John Cena won the 2013 Royal Rumble match to earn a championship match at WrestleMania after eliminating Ryback. It was Cena's second Royal Rumble victory.

- The Rock defeated WWE Champion CM Punk at tonight's pay-per-view to win his eighth world championship. During the match, the lights went out and The Rock was presumably attacked by The Shield. Punk pinned Rock and won the match, however WWE CEO Vince McMahon came out and was about to strip Punk of the title before Rock requested for the match to be restarted. McMahon obliged, and The Rock defeated Punk with a People's Elbow.

- Chris Jericho, The Godfather and Goldust made surprise appearances in tonight's Royal Rumble match. Jericho was #2 in the match, and lasted over a half an hour before finally being eliminated by Dolph Ziggler.

- Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio and Santino Marella also returned to action for tonight's Rumble match.
