1/21 RAW Breakdown: Beat The Clock Matches, Cena's Much-Talked About Promo, More

- Due to the MLK holiday, we're just now getting the numbers for the January 21st episode of WWE RAW. That show did a 3.03 rating with 4.32 million viewers. RAW was third on cable that night, behind two episodes of Pawn Stars.

The show started with a 3.36 quarter rating but Randy Orton vs. Antonio Cesaro lost 641,000 viewers. Mick Foley's Hall of Fame video, The Shield video and Zack Ryder vs. Big Show gained 196,000 viewers. Heath Slater vs. Ryback and another segment with The Rock and the police officers gained 12,000 viewers.

CM Punk's interview at 9pm gained 66,000 viewers for a 3.10 quarter rating, less than usual in growth. Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz in a Beat the Clock match gained 33,000 viewers. Dr. Shelby's anger management graduation with Kane and Daniel Bryan lost 162,000 viewers. Kaitlyn vs. Alicia Fox and a Paul Heyman segment gained 104,000 viewers.

The Rock's interview at 10pm with The Shield attacking him lost 109,000 viewers for a 3.01 quarter rating – a very bad number for the 10pm timeslot. Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett in a Beat the Clock match lost 406,000 viewers. Backstage segments with Vince McMahon, Punk, Heyman, Ziggler, AJ Lee and Vickie Guerrero plus Tensai vs. Alberto Del Rio gained 217,000 viewers. The final segment with John Cena's much-talked about promo and the big brawl to hype the Royal Rumble gained 154,000 viewers for a 2.98 quarter rating.
