WWE Main Event Recap (W/ Video) - Ziggler Vs. Del Rio, Highlight Reel, Paul Heyman Speaks

Welcome to the WrestlingInc.com WWE Main Event Recap.

- We begin with a video hyping Chris Jericho's first appearance plus CM Punk will address the WWE Universe and The Rock.

- The opener runs and we see pyro and crowd shots. Michael Cole welcomes us to the show with JBL.

- Y2J's music hits and he makes his entrance for the Highlight Reel which is set up in the ring. Jericho says the Miz was supposed to be his guest and we sends to video from RAW of Miz being injured by Antonio Cesaro. Jericho starts to announce his replacement guest as Ricardo Rodriguez appears on the apron and gets in the ring. Ricardo pulls out a mic from his pail and makes the formal introduction for Alberto Del Rio.

Del Rio thanks Chris for having him on his show and says he will finish Big Show this Sunday and remain the World Champion. Jericho wishes him luck and talks about his history with Del Rio's family in the business. Jericho says if he wins the Elimination Chamber he will face Del Rio and take his title. They begin to argue in Spanish and Ricardo interjects with a long monologue and runs out of breath. Dolph Ziggler comes out to save this segment.

Ziggler, Big E, and AJ stand at the base of the ramp. Ziggler says they are wasting their time if they are not talking about him. Jericho insults AJ and Big E has a problem with it. Jericho tries to figure out what the "E" stands for and goes through a long list like "Big Earwax." Ziggler holds Big E back and tells him it is not worth it. Ziggler says that sometime between now and WrestleMania, he will cash in his briefcase.

Del Rio says it's time for Ziggler to be shown a lesson and he will be the one to do it. Jericho polls the crowd and they want to see the match. JBL wonders if we will see the briefcase cashed-in tonight.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler

The bell rings just as we return from a break. They lock-up to a stalemate; Del Rio takes Ziggler over in a headlock. Del Rio gets a 1 count off a hiptoss and Ziggler goes out to regroup with his crew. Del Rio lands a big kick in the corner of the ring for another 1 count. Ziggler takes over and goes to a reverse chinlock. Ziggler continues and gets 2 on Del Rio. Alberto finds an opening and reverses things with an armbar. Del Rio launches Ziggler high in the air and he hits the mat hard but Del Rio misses with a charge in the corner as we go to break.

Ziggler drops consecutive and relentless elbows onto Del Rio as we return to action. Ziggler hits a beautiful dropkick to Del Rio and gets 2. Ziggler continues to slowly decimate Del Rio but Del Rio keeps kicking out. Del Rio slingshots Ziggler into the corner to create some space. Del Rio makes it to his feet first and charges in, but Ziggler manages to launch him over the top and Del Rio's face connects with the steel steps. Ziggler breaks the ref's count and brings Del Rio in for 2.

Del Rio brings Ziggler off the top in a reverse superplex and the ref counts both men as we take another break.

Back to action as the two men trade shots in the ring. Ziggler hits another dropkick but misses in the corner. Del Rio goes on a flurry and hits a backbreaker and a Superkick to Ziggler for 2. Ziggler counters Del Rio with a patented DDT for 2. Del Rio pins Ziggler in the corner but AJ puts Ziggler's foot on the rope. Ziggler almost steels one as he hits his finisher on Del Rio from behind for 2. Del Rio starts to soften the arm of Ziggler and charges in but Ziggler jumps on his back with a sleeper hold. Del Rio starts to fade but fights out. Del Rio hits a running Enzuigiri but Ziggler kicks out at 2.

AJ gets on the apron and Big E clocks Del Rio behind the ref's back. Ricardo throws his bucket at Big E and gets chased up the ramp. Del Rio applies the Cross Armbreaker in the ring and Ziggler taps.

Winner by submission: Alberto Del Rio

- Cole and JBL run down the Elimination Chamber card.

- Matt Striker is standing by with Paul Heyman in CM Punk's locker room. Heyman has the WWE Title and says he is the voice of the voice of the voiceless and anything he says is as good as if Punk himself says it. Heyman says Punk is at the arena but he is in training. He cuts a short promo and says Punk will defeat Rock this Sunday.

- A Fandango vignette runs.

- Footage is shown of The Shield from RAW.

Main Event goes off the air.
