WWE NXT Recap: Langston Vs. O'Brian, New Partner For Neville, More
NXT opens this week with a recap of Conor O'Brian's win to become the number one contender to the NXT Championship.
Bo Dallas and Adrian Neville vs. The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan)
Harper and Dallas start things off. They tie up, and Dallas punches Harper. Harper backs Dallas into the corner and Rowan comes in. He elbows Dallas and drives his boot into Dallas's head. Rowan clubs Dallas to the mat. Rowan comes in and punches Dallas in the gut, followed by an upper cut. He tries to keep the attack up, but he fights to his corner and Neville comes in. He attacks Harper and lands a standing shooting star press.
Harper comes back and lands a big boot for a near pin fall. Back from commercial and Rowan is torqueing Neville's head. Neville fights to his feet and tries to come back, but Rowan is too much. He boots Neville, and Harper comes in. They take turns clubbing Neville's chest. Harper headbutts Neville, and then locks in a side headlock. Neville fights out, but Harper hits a shoulder. Rowan and Harper exchange quick tags for a few minutes.
Neville eventually moves as Harper charges him in the corner, and is able to get to his corner. Dallas comes in and clotheslines Harper several times. He lands a tornado bulldog and attempts a pin, but Rowan breaks it up. Dallas sends Rowan from the ring. Bray Wyatt tries to interfere and Neville hits both men with a dive over the top rope. Back in the ring, Harper tries the discus clothesline but Dallas ducks it and lands a belly to belly Suplex for the win.
Winner: Bo Dallas and Adrian Neville
Then, a video of Conor O'Brian is shown where he says he is the Ascension and he will rise. Then, a brief recap of Rock and Cena's rivalry is shown. Then, William Regal comes up and attacks Kassius Ohno, who is on commentary. He lays him out and tosses him over the commentary table.
Summer Rae and Audrey Marie vs. Sasha Banks and Paige
Paige and Marie start things off. Paige tries to run at Summer, but Audrey stops her. They tie up and Audrey flips her to the mat. Paige lands a drop toehold and tries to get to Summer, but Audrey grabs her foot. She backs Paige into her corner and Banks tags herself in. She hits a pair of chops and then a hurricanrana. Audrey comes back quickly with a clothesline and Summer comes in. She slams Banks's head to the mat and chokes her on the ropes.
Audrey comes back in and locks in a chin lock. They exchange multiple quick tags while working on Banks. Banks eventually reverses with a quick roll up attempt and tags Paige in. She stares at Summer, and then lunges at her. Summer jets out of the ring and runs up the ramp. Audrey comes in and Paige kicks her in the gut. She lands the Paige Turner for the win.
Winners: Sasha Banks and Paige
After the match, Paige immediately runs out of the ring and takes off up the ramp.
Conor O'Brian vs. Big E. Langston: NXT Championship
They stare each other down in the ring as things go to commercial. Back from commercial and Langston is hitting Conor in the gut. He hits Conor with a big clothesline. Conor hits a full Nelson slam for a near pin fall. Conor kicks Langston into the mat, followed by an elbow drop. He then keeps the attack up briefly. Langston fights to his feet and Conor whips him into the corner. Conor hits a body avalanche, and then a lariat off the top rope. He then locks in a vice grip on Langston's neck.
Conor knees Langston's gut, and then hits him with a series of kicks and punches before locking the vice grip back in. Langston fights to his feet and hits Conor with a pair of clotheslines. He then knees Conor in the gut five times. He bounds off the ropes to charge at Conor, but Conor puts his boot up. Conor picks Langston up like he is going to hit the Big Ending, but Langston wriggles out and hits Conor with a clothesline. Langston hits the Big Ending for the win.
Winner and still NXT Champion: Big E. Langston
After the match, Langston picks Conor up and hits the Big Ending again, followed by the five count.
