Rob Van Dam Talks His Future Plans, Attending WWE Hall Of Fame, WWE's Schedule, More

As noted earlier, Rob Van Dam recently chatted with Arda Ocal. Here are some highlights from the interview.

His experience attending the WWE HOF this year: "I went to see Booker T get inducted, which was awesome. The whole experience was great. I don't know if it's because this is the first time I've been to one of these that I didn't have to go to, or if it was just the fact that I wasn't part of it so I had a different perspective. I really, really enjoyed it. Booker Tm his indictment?indictment? [laughter] No, that I didn't enjoy. Neither did he. He did mention a few of those on stage. His induction and you know, Bob Backlund, all of them. But Bruno, holy s***. To hear Bruno up there and to hear him talk about hiding from the Nazis and his mom taking that 24 hour hike down the mountain to try and get potatoes out of their basement to bring to the family when his siblings are dying, holy cow.

"I mean, I really feel like after hearing that I'm not worthy. I knew that Bruno was an icon, a legend. I get that, but during my time when I started watching wrestling he was already commentating. So I missed that heyday of his height of popularity where I hear so many people talk about [Sammartino's career], for me it was Hulk Hogan, when I watched wrestling, but I get it and now I really get it. All of them. Even Booker, being my bro, when you hear the family and everyone that knows him talk about their stories from growing up you get to know them better. I don't care how well you know them. You get to know them better during these speeches and that's what makes it really enjoyable. It was awesome to be a part of it."

If it was cool to see Mick Foley there: "Yeah, I mean it was cool to see all of them. Trish, maybe it was cool to see Donald Trump. I'm not really sure if I felt that was cool. It was a really enjoyable event. The whole thing was cool. Congratulations to all of them.

"Mick, a lot of people associate him, and always will, with the same hardcore style as they associate Rob Van Dam with so for that I guess you could say we're kindred spirits, even though we haven't necessarily traveled the same paths at the same time. I don't remember a Rob Van Dam versus Mick Foley hardcore match. There should have been one. I think one of us wasn't ready for it, not to take anything away from anybody. But congratulations and my story still goes. RVD lives on."

A potential WWE comeback: "Well, anything is possible right now and that may just sound like an escape route, to answer a question like that. I have plans, but through experience I'm a skeptic by nature and until my name is on the dotted line somewhere it's not for sure and right now my names not on a dotted line somewhere. So working on some things and until that happens the status remains as you said: RVD a free agent."

If he'd be open again to the hectic schedule of the WWE: "I can't imagine going back to the same schedule that I did before. Can't imagine. Like, I would have to lose just about everything else out of the equation in my life and then at that point we do what he got to do, you know what I mean? That's not in my best interests or my radar to go back to what I did before. No. No no, no, no, no. No."
