Welcome to the WrestlingINC.com WWE Main Event Recap.

- The show opens with the theme and we go to pyro and crowd shots. Michael Cole welcomes us to the show from the University of Tennessee. Superstars are in the ring for a battle royal. The winner will face Wade Barrett for the Intercontinental Title tonight.

Wade Barrett interrupts things on the stage and begins to cut a promo about having to defend his title again. The Great Khali's music hits and he and Hornswoggle & Natalya comes out. Barrett is annoyed at the sidekicks dancing around him but gets serious when he gets face to face with Khali. The trio makes their way down the ramp as Barrett stays behind.

Battle Royal for shot at Intercontinental Championship: The Great Khali, Santino, The Uso's, Yoshi Tatsu, Alex Riley, Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, Justin Gabriel, Primo & Epico

On a side note, it's good to see Riley out there. Slow action ensues across the ring. Drew and Jinder team-up. Khali hits chops to everyone he comes across in the corner. Drew tosses out an Uso. Gabriel hangs on as Santino tries to eliminate him. Yoshi gets eliminated by Primo. Man, I wish Dish Network had ionTV in HD because this always looks horrible. Khali starts to lay everybody out; bodies are laying. Khali throws out Epico and Jinder. Khali raises his arms and roars like Chewbacca as we go to break.

Khali continues his dominance as we return. He hits headbutts now. Anyone remember WrestleMania the video game? That's all Andre the Giant did, chop and headbutt. Today's games are insane. Anyway, Barrett looks on from a monitor in the back and nods in approval as everyone bands together to try to eliminate Khali. Khali slips back in through the ropes. Riley stays alive as his feet don't touch the floor.

They all go at Khali again and it takes 6 to eliminate him. Barrett is pleased, backstage. Riley hits a spinebuster to an Uso and a dropkick to eliminate him. Santino gets all fired up at there being 4 men left and gets knocked out by Drew and Primo.

Drew and Primo double team Gabriel. JBL says Santino is not all there but he is entertaining. Cole notes that Santino almost won the Royal Rumble one year. Santino comes back against Drew and Primo. He pulls out the Cobra and hits Primo who goes out through the ropes. Drew eliminates Santino. Gabriel and Drew mix it up in the ring. Drew hits a vicious clothesline and tosses Gabriel out but he hangs on. Gabriel pulls Drew out with a head scissors and eliminates him. Primo gets in and tries to take advantage from behind but Gabriel scouts it and tosses him out.

Winner: Justin Gabriel

Matt Striker gets words from Gabriel in the ring. He says he is ready and Barrett's title reign comes to an end tonight. He alludes to his past friendship with Barrett.

- We see footage of the World Title situation from RAW.

- Back from a break as we revisit the C.M. Punk promo, or lack thereof, from RAW on Monday. Cole reads a statement from Paul Heyman regarding Punk as we see a graphic of Heyman with the words on the screen. Heyman basically defers the attention to Triple H and Brock Lesnar's challenge.

- We go to footage of Lesnar destroying 3MB and the subsequent challenge to The Game.

- Barrett gives an interview to Striker in the back. Striker asks if his luck has had a change for the worse. Barrett berates Striker's career as a teacher, wrestler, and broadcaster and says he got his win and title back from the Miz and that R-Truth better watch out as well. Barrett turns his attention to Gabriel and basically says that he (Barrett) is a fighter, not a daredevil.

Barrett tries to kick him in the face, but Gabriel ducks and sends Barrett to the outside. Barrett lands on his feet, Justin dives over the top rope, but Barrett sidesteps and nails him with a big boot as we go to commercial.
