Backstage News On Brock Lesnar Headlining SummerSlam, Plans For Daniel Bryan

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer that the original planned main event of Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam is almost certainly not happening. Lesnar is still slated to be in the title picture when he returns, and will likely be facing the winner of the Money In The Bank ladder match for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.

As for Bryan, he's still scheduled to be in one of the main events at SummerSlam if he's ready by then, although it's not certain that he will be. People in the company expect that he will be back for either SummerSlam in August or Night of the Champions in September. Meltzer noted that WWE is starting to advertise Bryan locally for live events in California in mid-August, although WWE.com has not added Bryan to those events on their website.
