Kurt Angle Talks Backstage Shoot With Brock Lesnar, Jim Ross Admits To Getting Heat For Incident

"The match was tight," admits Angle. "There's no doubt about it. There was only one takedown. I took Brock down, and that was it. That's when I put the fingers up, said two, and it's over. But we went a good 12 to 15 minutes. It was a good battle; Brock did outweigh me by about 70 pounds at the time. He was a big boy, but I knew that. It was a tight match. Did I beat him? Yeah, I edged him."

The Olympic gold medalist also praised Lesnar for being a fantastic athlete, saying, "He could have done anything he wanted" when it came to sports.

Ross also said when word got back to Vince McMahon, he was very upset with the former broadcaster, and Ross said he was chewed apart for it. Angle apologized to Ross in a friendly way, and said he was egging Lesnar on, since it got on Angle's nerves that Lesnar told coworkers weeks before that Angle was too small for him.

Angle said when he was face-to-face against Lesnar, he was nervous because of his foe's size. Angle also mentioned what Lesnar lacked in technique, he made up for in athleticism, and Ross added that Lesnar could have been the best "big man athlete" WWE had ever signed.
