Montreal Screwjob Anniversary, Chris Jericho Signing Before SmackDown, Wrestling Move In NFL Game

- Today marks the 17th anniversary of the Montreal Screwjob, which is arguably the most famous finish in modern pro wrestling history. For the few of you who are not aware of the event, at the Survivor Series on November 9th, 1997, WWF Champion Bret "The Hitman" Hart defended his title against Shawn Michaels in what ended up being Hart's last match before heading to WCW. When Michaels put Hart in the sharpshooter, senior referee Earl Hebner called for the bell and brought the match to an abrupt halt before taking off to the back, despite Hart not submitting. Hart had been doublecrossed by McMahon, as the finish of the match was supposed to be a disqualification. Hart spit in Vince McMahon's face, who was at ringside, and knocked McMahon out backstage later that night.
