WWE NXT Recap (8/26): 90 Minute Episode From Brooklyn, Fatal 4-Way Main Event, Enzo And Cass In NY
Welcome to our WrestlingINC.com NXT coverage. Tonight's episode features matches taped prior to this weekend's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn special.
- We see highlights of the TakeOver special, and then Enzo & Cass come out to a giant reaction.
Enzo Amore, Big Cass & Hype Bros vs. Scott Dawson, Dash Wilder, Jason Jordan & Chad Gable
The Hype Bros double team Dash Wilder until he fights out and tags Dawson, who eats a beautiful Ryder second rope dropkick for two. Enzo is tagged in and gets a big pop as he dances in pinstripe pants. All 8 men end up brawling, and the baby faces dominate Wilder. Ryder gets a big reaction for his Broski Boot as well.
Enzo and Cass hit a breathtaking move where Cass chucks Enzo over the top rope onto all of the heels. We go to a commercial and come back to see Enzo getting worked over by Jason Jordan. Gable comes in and works over Enzo's arm, a duty he shares with Dawson and Wilder. Gable lands a cool one-armed monkey flip and the heels keep working Enzo over while the crowd chants "we want Cass."
Enzo hits a big DDT and makes the hot tag to Cass, who destroys everyone. Ryder hits the Rough Ryder, followed by a swinging slam on Gable by Cass. Enzo and Cass hit the Rocket Launcher for the win!
Winners: Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady & Hype Bros via pinfall (Rocket Launcher)
- William Regal announces that the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic starts next week. Neville shows up and asks Regal for a spot in the tourney. Regal says he'll make it happen.
- Finn Balor is shown backstage after TakeOver saying he wants to take the NXT to new heights.
- We see a great video package for Emma. They should probably use these on the main roster.
- Charlotte and Becky Lynch are backstage, and say there won't be any hard feelings when they have to face off in the fatal 4-way with Emma and Dana Brooke tonight.
Carmella vs. Eva Marie
Eva Marie misses a clothesline and Carmella moonwalks around the ring. Eva applies a really bad headlock and gets hip tossed and dropkicked. Eva drops Carmella with a nice forearm, but only gets a two count off of a senton. Eva then applies a modified abdominal stretch and taunts Carmella.
Carmella fights back with a head scissors takedown and a few Thesz presses. Eva hits a jawbreaker and a rough looking Sliced Red for the win.
Winner: Eva Marie via pinfall (Sliced Red)
- We see more NXT TakeOver highlights.
- Bayley is shown backstage legit crying after her title win. She says she doesn't want the other girls to leave her. This was really awesome.
- William Regal is backstage, and Baron Corbin says he wants in the Dusty Rhodes tournament. Regal says his partner will be Rhyno. They'll take on the Ascension.
- We see another Bullfit video. Dempsey says he's back
Bull Dempsey vs. Elias Sampson
Dempsey comes out in a boxing robe. The two trade headlocks, but Sampson mule kicks Dempsey. Sampson keeps putting the boots to Dempsey. Bull fights back with big punches, and then squishes Sampson in the corner. Seated senton off the top wins it for Bull, but that was bad.
Winner: Bull Dempsey via pinfall (seated senton)
- Samoa Joe is shown after his match Saturday, and says he wants the NXT Title.
- We see a Nia Jax promo.
- Apollo Crews is also shown speaking about his match, which he says was a great experience.
- Alexa Bliss is backstage, and challenges Blue Pants to a match for next week.
Fatal 4-way match
Emma vs. Dana Brooke vs. Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch
Emma and Dana double team Charlotte early, slamming her into the guard rail as we go to commercial. We come back to see Becky also get double teamed. Emma and Dana have a breakdown, and Dana hits an enziguri before doing her cat in heat dance. Charlotte comes in and takes her out with a neckbreaker and Emma with a boot, before DDTing both of them.
Becky hits Charlotte with a dropkick on accident, then takes out Emma with a wrist clutch suplex and Dana with a suplex of her own. Emma comes back and takes out Charlotte and Becky with Emma Sandwiches, and gets the pin on Emma. Everyone is shocked.
Winner: Emma via pinfall (Emma Sandwich)
Charlotte hits Emma with Natural Selection and pins Emma while the crowd counts. Dana comes and kicks her, but she eats a Becky suplex and the Figure 8. Becky puts Emma in Disarmor as well.
