You are the first third-generation women's wrestler to compete for the big two. How did you get your start?
Because of our family tragedy in the business, I wasn't even considering wrestling growing up as a career, and I thought my family would kill me! Then one day I got a call from my Uncle Kevin that the WWE wanted me to be a "diva", I had not watched wrestling since my father died since it made me cry, so I had no idea what I was in for. As a new mom, I thought it might be good for the two of us; so I signed a developmental contract and soon found out it was too difficult to juggle both, but I fell in love with the sport. Now my family is so proud of me, and I love where my career is headed thanks to TNA!
Does being a part of the legendary Von Erich family make being in the business easier, or is it harder due to the lofty expectations?
I would say it's both. It was easy getting into the business, and now its hard to live up to the expectations of the "Von Erich" fans. But I love criticism, it only makes me stronger, and I'm willing to train everyday to become the best I can be, and just hope its good enough. This is my life now, and I will make it count.
How is it being a part of TNA?
I couldn't have asked for better people to work with! Being part of The Beautiful People is SO much fun, and the girls are amazing! Dixie Carter, along with Terry Taylor have opened the TNA Family doors and I'm so grateful. This is the best fit for me, they are a rising company only headed to the top and I hope to be along for the successful ride for a long time!
You recently caught some flak for some comments directed towards Angelina Love, who you replaced in The Beautiful People. What are your thoughts on Angelina?
I am actually thankful for her, without her, Velvet Sky, and Madison Rayne, The Beautiful People wouldn't have had the success it's had, and paved the way for me to join such a great group. People try to make it sound like we're now rivals, but the truth is we've never spoken a word to each other.
Tammy Sytch had some unflattering comments directed towards you? Have you ever met Sytch? What are your thoughts about her?
I don't know who she is, nor have I followed her career. Everyone has a right to their opinions and the way they share them to the world. You could take the classy respectful way, or blast them on the internet, its all up to them. I ignore it, either way.
You will be a part of the big Wrestlers Rescue cruise next year. Tell us more about what Wrestlers Rescue, and what it's objective is.
I cant wait to go on the cruise! Whatever I can do to help Dawn Marie, and the Wrestlers Rescue out. I really respect what her goals and what she is accomplishing for our fellow wrestlers. I think its a great cause and I'll do what I can. They are dedicated to improving the lives of the professional and their families, by educating the person on how to expand their opportunities and how to reach their full potential in life. Helping and raising money for the health care needs for retired wrestlers is a big part of what shes trying to achieve.
Can you tell us know more about the cruise?
It's leaving Tampa and goes to Cozumel and back. Carnival Cruise line is helping sponsor it. So you can hang out with wrestlers or just partake in the normal Carnival activites. You can go to WrestlersRescue.org for more details.
Tammy Sytch will also be a part of that cruise. Do you see any problems with you two being on the same boat for a week?
This is a charity event. I'm sure she's a great girl if she's partaking in such a good cause.
What do you like to do to relax when you’re not working?
Hang glide! It's not as extreme as it sounds. You go off a mountain and can stay in the air for hours just gliding. Pack a small lunch and a little water you can fly to the beach and bus it back home. It's the perfect day.
What type of music do you like to listen to?
I like Country. I'm from Texas and live in Los Angeles, it makes me feel at home. But a little Sade, or Kenny G., a bubble bath and glass of wine never hurt.
What type of guy do you like to date?
I like a guy that drinks beer, watches football, loves big dogs, family, and makes me laugh.
What’s your idea of a fun date? What can a guy do on a date to impress you?
An NFL football game, Bud Light, hot dogs, and the kiss cam! He would impress me if he could chug faster than I can. It's hard to beat a Texas girl!
