Update On This Weekends ECW House Shows, More News

ECW has two house shows this weekend and then their first ever solo TV event on Tuesday. ECW runs first on July 1st in Belle Vernon, PA at the Ice Garden with advertised appearances by Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, and Paul Heyman. Then on the 2nd of July, ECW breaks out of the northeast and goes to Huntington, WV at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. The following matches have already been announced for the July 2nd show:

Rob Van Dam Vs. Big Show Test Vs. Tommy Dreamer (Falls Count Anywhere) Sabu Vs. CW Anderson Sandman Vs. Justin Credible (Dueling Canes) Balls Mahoney Vs. Mike Knox Nunzio Vs. Danny Doring

Then, on July 4th, ECW has their biggest test and their most important show as they run from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA for their first ever solo television show. Rob Van Dam Vs. Edge under Extreme Rules for both of RVD's titles has already been announced. While it is the 4th of July weekend and there is a RAW/SmackDown! supershow the day before, many backstage in WWE are using this as a complete judge as to how ECW can draw right now and a lot of big things will be changing after the show for sure, whether it goes smoothly or badly.

While it is doubtful that Vince McMahon will end his "pet project" if the show does badly, a big change-up in the control and overall product could happen if the show does do badly. Even more, after ECW's last house show that resulted in fans chanting "This show sucks!" at Paul Heyman and fighting afterwards, the two house shows on the 1st and 2nd are going to be watched closely by everyone in WWE.
