Edge and Cena locked up with Cena backing Edge to the corner. They locked up again and Cena hammered away at Edge with right hands and elbows in the corner. Cena continued his assault on Edge, and then took him down with a reverse elbow. Edge almost squashed the referee in the corner, and then turned around into a belly to belly for a two count. Cena missed a charge in the corner and hit the steel ring post, and then fell to the outside. The referee started the count, and Cena got in at eight. Edge stomped away at Cena and then gave him some shots to the back.

Edge took Cena down with a standing dropkick as Lita looked on in approval. Edge charged at Cena, knocking him off the apron and into the barricade. The referee started the count as the fans chanted Cena Sucks! Cena made it back in at nine and Edge is on him like white on rice. Cena started to fight back with right hands, but then ran into a flying heel kick for a near fall. Edge hammered away at Cena but Cena started to fight back and nailed the fisherman buster into a cover for two. Edge came back, tossing Cena over the top to the outside. The referee started his count again, and Cena got back in at eight. Edge nailed Cena but again Cena started to fight back with right hands and then went for the cross body but Edge ducked. Edge nailed Cena with a clothesline and then covered for a two count.

Double clothesline left both men laying on their backs, as the referee counted. Edge went for the Spear, but Cena countered into the STFU. Edge got to the ropes.
