According to the report, WWE refused to pay $2 million to Benoit’s two surviving children from a previous marriage as ''recognition of their father's contributions to the company,'' according to Chris Benoit’s father, Michael Benoit’s attorney Cary Ichter. The publication noted that this could have set the stage for a “potentially nasty and protracted legal battle.”
