News On RAW This Week, 'Mania 23, More

News On RAW This Week, 'Mania 23, MoreAs Christmas Eve draws closer, WWE is pushing the Tribute To The Troops RAW special both online and in print advertising. Earlier this month, nineteen WWE Superstars and Divas and other WWE staff members traveled to Iraq to bring some holiday cheer to the men and women of the US military by touring several bases and give the troops a special edition of Monday Night RAW. WWE purchased an ad space in the New York Times to promote Monday's show. The advert features a big photo of Triple H in a Santa hat hugging a female soldier and underneath three pictures of Mickie James, John Cena and Rey Mysterio interacting with the troops. The slogan reads, 'We left the "thank you" cards home and shipped the whole show." This will be the fifth annual Christmas-edition of RAW in a war zone, with four being done in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

WWE sent out a press release announcing that their events WrestleMania 23 and the RAW 15th Anniversary have been among the top 10 Internet searches for 2007 on AOL, Yahoo! and Lycos. On AOL, WWE was the number one most searched sports term, beating out all other major sports leagues and popular teams. John Cena was also the number one searched term among athletes, surpassing popular athletes David Beckham, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams and others. Overall, WWE placed 10th among all AOL search terms. On Yahoo!, WWE placed second on the site's top 10 searches in 2007, behind Britney Spears. On Lycos, WWE placed 10th among top search terms of 2007.

Believe it or not, Scott Hall did NOT no show a wrestling show. Hall, who recently no showed a TNA PPV and weekend shows in Puerto Rico, actually wrestled on Friday in Pontiac, Michigan, for Juggalo Championship Wrestling. Hall teamed up with Violent J (ICP) and Nosawa in the main event to beat the Thomaselli brothers. Also on the show, Jimmy Jacobs defeated Zach Gowen (when Scott D'Amore interfered).
