Joey Mercury was backstage at TV on Monday, and it was determined then that he was going to be let go. WWE feels he still hasn't gotten over his "personal problems" which caused his long suspension before, and they are giving him another chance to get himself together.
The impression given was that if Mercury finally does get himself straightened out, that the door for a return will be left open.
On a side note, Mercury was seen outside in the parking lot after he was told he had been released hugging CM Punk, Johnny Nitro, and Randy Orton, among others.
