Cena Working Indy Event, Kennedy's Future, Austin, More

Cena Working Indy Event, Kennedy's Future, Austin, MoreIf you havent seen The Condemned in theaters yet and still want too, youd better hurry. According to BoxOfficeMojo.com the film was pulled from 1,802 movie theaters today, making it the most of any film showing this weekend. WWE Films latest project starring Steve Austin only had 13 days in 2,310 theaters and will only show in 508 theaters this weekend. As of Wednesday, the flick has generated $6,627,355 gross income.

WWE Heavyweight Champion John Cena and Eugene will take part in a Chaotic Wrestling independent event on May 25th in Byfield, Massachusetts, according to WWE.com. The show is a charity event for the Newbury Policy Association and other charitable organizations and will be a homecoming for Cena. Cena will be the referee for Chaotic Champ Brian Lilonas match against Rick Fuller, who will have Cenas father in his corner. Eugene is scheduled to wrestle at the show against Handsome Johnny. Incase you are wondering, Cenas father has been very involved in the Massachusetts independent scene for quite some time.

The latest update on Mr. Kennedy is that with the news that his injury is not as serious as first thought, creative plans are almost certain to change once again. While Kennedy will not be able to work a match for 6-8 weeks, there is a good possibility that WWE creative could continue to write him into television angles doing interviews and minor run-ins. The feeling backstage is that Kennedy is a top guy on SmackDown and it is important to keep him involved with the brand. We should know a lot more after next weeks SmackDown tapings as to the direction that they will be using Kennedy.
