Some of you may find it interesting that wwe.com have reported on the heavyweight title change to Edge that will happen on smackdown this week and the reasoning behind this is to simply boost the smackdown ratings. WWE also felt that it was inevitable that other news sites will report the story so they jumped in to have full control and spin on the report.

What is also interesting is they put a short video clip of the incident on the site as well, which could be detrimental to the ratings, as you get all you want to know from the website. The other argument is that if you visit wwe.com you are a net fan and will probably not care either way.

WWE have been back and forth over the years on whether to reveal spoilers or not. This is the furtherest they have ever been with pre airing news.
