The planned finished for the Benoit & Punk vs. Cor Von & Burke match was changed on the fly during the match. The planned finish was for Benoit to go over Burke with the sharpshooter. However, the referee abruptly ended the match by calling a DQ when Cor Von didn't get out of the ring by the five count. The new doctrine calls for referees to call a match as if it was a shoot. It's a good idea for house shows, as it's a good teaching tool for both wrestlers and referees alike, but on TV, it doesn't come off so well. They usually only do this thing at house shows, so it seemed really odd that they'd do it on TV, and in the main event no less.
