WWE News On Finlay, Kennedy Mistake, DDP/Jay-Z

Mr. KennedyIf you would like to send in a news tip, email me at Webmaster@ProWrestlingSCOOPS.com.

As noted late last night here on the site, WWE is sending SmackDown star Fit Finlay to debate Marc Mero on the WWE/Benoit/steroids story on Nancy Grace on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. on CNN Headline News. Finlay is the first wrestler WWE has allowed to appear on a cable talk show that wasn't Larry King's. TV producers have made several requests to WWE asking for someone to represent the company in the debates, but WWE officials have repeatedly turned down the requests. Furthermore, WWE put talent on a three-week media ban.

When ranting about past wrestling stars who don't know anything appearing on the cable talk shows, Ken Kennedy compared them to bench-riding high school football players giving Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre advice. Kennedy said: "For these goofs, like Lanny Poffo? Ultimate Warrior? and Marc Mero???!! to repeatedly act as "experts" and "wrestler advocates" on the current situation is like having a frustrated ex-jock who rode the pine bench throughout his high school sports career give advice to Brett Favre on how to improve his game! It's ridiculous, insane, and it really makes me sick..." Current Packers head coach Mike McCarthy never played pro football. He played two years of college football at Baker University from 1985 to 1986. Furthermore, Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements spent a single season in the NFL in 1980 for the Kansas City Chiefs.

A bumper/highlight reel of the late "Sensational" Sherri Martel airs prior to the Survivor Series 1993 program that was uploaded on WWE 24/7 on Tuesday night. She says we're watching WWE 24/7. Survivor Series 1993 then opens up by showing Lex Luger, his wife Peggy (now ex-wife) and two children sitting by the fireplace in their large mansion. The Luger family then wishes all the viewers at home a 'Happy Thanksgiving'. And so much for the Chris Benoit ban on WWE 24/7. An "International Flag Match" between Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko from the 11/22/99 WCW Monday Nitro was uploaded in the Shorties section on Tuesday night.

It appears as if former wrestling superstar Diamond Dallas Page is close to settling his trademark infringement lawsuit with hip hop mogul Jay-Z. The two sides reached a settlement in principle on June 15th after a lengthy period of mediation. The settlement will be presented in court on August 10th. If the court signs off on it, the case will then be dismissed. For those that do not remember, Page sued Jay-Z (and a number of his companies) for allegedly infringing on his “Diamond Cutter” hand gesture.
