- We go to Mike Tenay and Don West at ringside. They hype up the "Match of Champions" main event that is up next. When they showed the graphics of the TNA titles on the line tonight, they were still the old graphics of the "NWA" belts.
- Team 3D was out first with the TNA World Tag Team Titles in hand. Samoa Joe was out next. He had samoan fire dancers for his entrance.
- We then go to a shot of Kurt Angle backstage leaving his room. He spots Havoc and Martyr (Johnny Devine and Matt Bentley). Angle asks them to back him up tonight. Both laugh and then Angle attacks them.
The Match of Champions: Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle vs. Team 3-D.
Joe came out to his PPV Samoan ring entrance. On the way to the ring, Angle tries to drum up support from Matt Bentley and Johnny Devine. He beats both down, and attacks them with a championship belt. Angle finally makes his way to the ring with the IWGP and TNA world title belts. Borash does his usual main event ring introductions. Fans greeted Angle with "Angle sucks" chants. Match started with Joe vs. Devon. In text voting, fans believed Joe would scored the pinfall tonight, 38% compared to Angle's 36%. Early on, Joe and Angle are functioning as a tag team, and made frequent tags, although the fans are clearly behind Joe. Devon covered Angle, but Brother Ray pushed Devon off. Devon returned the favor when Ray tried to pin Joe. Team 3-D pushed each other, and Ray slapped Devon. Ray walked away, but quickly returned to the ring and hugged, just playing mind games. Team 3-D worked on Joe, thus he'll need to make the hot tag to Angle. Angle encouraged Joe to tag him in, but Ray cut him off and decks Angle. Angle finally tags in and goes after Team 3-D. 3-D countered Angle, but Joe knocked Devon off the top rope. Many quick pin falls attempts, but to no avail. Moonsault by Angle on Devon, but Ray made the save. A double ankle locks by Joe and Angle. as Brother Ray just said to get the tables. 3-D on Angle, but Rick Steiner pulled out referee Earl Hebner as he was making the count. Steiner knocks out Ray, and Joe covers Ray, but Angle saved. Olympic slam attempt, but Joe cuts his legs out. Joe pinned Ray at 18:25 to win the world tag team title belts
