WWE is airing “SummerSlam Stories” on Comcast OnDemand under “More Sports.” The special is a 30 minute program promoting the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view by profiling historic SummerSlam moments.

Last week's WWE quarter report revealed bad news for the company's "secondary" PPV events. With the recent drop in RAW ratings, poor PPV buyrates and the overall hit that business has taken due to the Benoit media fallout, Vince McMahon made it very clear to people backstage that the company must put on strong TV and PPV shows in the coming months.

WWE feels that the summer and fall returns of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker Edge and Bobby Lashley will keep business strong for the third and fourth quarters of 2007. No Mercy will be an interbrand show this year for the first time since 2002 - so expect a stacked card.

World Wrestling Entertainment has released the promotional poster for their first of 2 Pay-Per-View events being held in October. WWE No Mercy will take place on Sunday night, October 7th from Chicago, Illinois. Cyber Sunday takes place 2 weeks later.

The No Mercy poster features Randy Orton catching a white dove in his hands. The sinister look on Orton's face and the event name "No Mercy" imply a gloomy fate for the bird. With Randy Orton facing John Cena at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship and rumors that their feud will continue into the fall, expect Orton to play a big part in the October PPV.
