An Update On MVP's Condition, Titan Towers, More

An Update On MVP's Condition, Titan Towers, MoreAs noted earlier, WWE.com is reporting that the US champ MVP was diagnosed with the Wolff-Parkinson- White syndrome from results obtained during a Wellness Policy physical test. The syndrome can cause a different heart rhythm putting him in a very big risk of getting a heart attack at any given time. Cardiologist Dr. Fred Feuerbach, who oversaw the testing for WWE said that the test may very well saved MVP's life. While not always fatal, those who have the condition shouldn't be exposed to excessive physical activity he added. However MVP's tip-top shape made up for the condition and this past Monday he underwent a radio frequency treatment. Next week there will be more tests performed again to see if the procedure was a success. MVP's condition was detected during the Great American Bash weekend where WWE Superstars were ordered to run a treadmill to the point where their heart beat rises more than 150 per minute. The cardio testing is done every six months. MVP will not be wrestling this weekend during live events and his appearances next week will depend on the results. (thanks to Colin Vassallo)

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (NYSE:WWE) announced that its board of directors today declared the Company’s regular quarterly dividend of $0.24 per share on all Class A and Class B common stock. The record date for the dividend will be September 14, 2007, and the payment date will be September 26, 2007.

On July 31, WWE played host to a group of Korean university students visiting the United States as part of “LG Global Challenger 2007,” a community relations program hosted by LG Electronics Worldwide. The four students were touring the United States to learn more about the business of sports. Their first stop was WWE headquarters to learn more about the world of sports entertainment.

The students were given a tour of WWE’s facilities and then attended a meeting with WWE executives at which the students asked insightful questions regarding WWE’s role in entertainment, how it markets its products, the company’s future expansion plans outside of North America, and where the Korean market fit into the picture.
