Matt Hughes confirmed on his website that he is leaving Team MFS and opening a gym closer to his home. MMAWeekly.com is reporting Robbie Lawler is leaving with Hughes and will train at his gym.
Top ten Lightweight fighter Jociam Hansen turned down a 3 fight deal from the UFC that would've paid him 35K/35K and up to 45K/45K for for the third fight. It was rumored he was going to the WEC to fight at Featherweight (145 lbs) but it was only a rumor.
UFC president Dana White announced this morning the release of fighter Renato Sobral. The release stems from Sobral not breaking a choke on David Heath on Saturday night in Las Vegas, after he tapped out.
Steve Sievert of The Houston Chronicle is reporting the reason the UFC hasn't booked Andrei Arlovski is because he hasn't signed a contact extension. Arlovski currently has one fight left on his contract and he is asking price is reportedly very high.
