-- PW Torch has reported that The Pro Wrestling Illustrated newsstand and subscription-based magazine has been acquired by Golden Boy Enterprises.
If you did not know already Golden Boy Enterprises is owned by former world champion boxer, Oscar De La Hoya.
The company not only purchased the Pro Wrestling Illustrated titles but also other titles from Kappa Publishing Group Inc. that include The Ring Magazine, KO, and World Boxing.
"This is the kind of asset you never really own, but rather safeguard for the next generation," said Golden Boy Chief Executive Officer Richard Schaefer. "We are proud and honored to be part of this next generation and are mindful of the responsibility trusted upon us. The Ring and Pro Wrestling Illustrated brands are, in our opinion, two of the strongest and most recognized brands in their respective fields. We are looking forward to being part of the next chapter of these great titles and are very respectful of the deep history of each."
