- Penny Durham, the widow of Johnny Grunge, is considering filing a wrongful death suit against Dr. Phil Astin.
- Records have shown that 11 doctors wrote prescriptions for Mike Durham, but none to the levels prescribed by Astin. In fact, 28 of Durham's 33 prescriptions were written by Astin.
- The Toffoloni family is also considering a lawsuit against Astin, but the family plans to wait out the criminal case against the doctor.
- Amy Tingley, the lead attorney for Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, is claiming the top four company officials arrested will be exonerated.
- Signature Pharmacy is still operational, running out of Winter Haven, but had to close its Orlando headquarters and downsize its staff.
