A promo for The Great American Bash was shown. Another clip was shown of Daniel Beck (the ‘lead federal investigator’) saying that the DNA was found in the limo of McMahon, the limo driver and another well known personality. Michael Cole said he had heard rumors that there may be another major announcement regarding the case tomorrow on Raw.
Former U.S. Champion Magnum T.A. was shown in the crowd. MVP vs. Ric Flair for the U.S. title is up next. MVP got in Magnum T.A.’s face when he was entering the ring. MVP pinned Ric Flair after the playmaker. The match was decent and the crowd was into it. Winner by pinfall: MVP.
John Cena was interviewed in the back to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Edge butted into the interview. Cena basically saying that Edge didn’t have the guts to pull off the limo explosion. Cena left to show Beck waiting to talk to Edge.
Tony Garea and Rick Martel were introduced to the crowd. The open challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship is up next. As we reported earlier, Sgt. Slaughter and Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka are announced as the opponents for Deuce and Domino. Incidentally, Snuka is Deuce’s father in real life. Of course, no mention of that is being made. The match was bad, but all things considered, it could have been a lot worse. Deuce and Domino won the match after Deuce pinned Snuka. After the match Deuce and Domino continued to beat on Slaughter and Snuka until Tony Garea and Rick Martel hit the ring and cleared the ring of the champions. Winners by pinfall: Deuce and Domino.
Edge vs. Batista for the World Championship is up next. Former World Champion Harley Race was introduced at ringside. Crowd wasn’t into it for most of the match, but they got the crowd by the end. Edge hit Batista with a low blow at the end causing Batista to win the match by DQ, so Edge would have retained the World Heavyweight title. However, Teddy Long came out and ordered the match to continue, and said that if Edge got himself disqualified again, he would lose the title. Crowd is really into the match now. Batista hit a Batista Bomb on Edge on the outside, however by the time he rolled Edge into the ring, he wasn’t able to make the count and lost the match via countout. After the match, Batista hit Edge with the Batista Bomb again. Winner by countout: Edge.
The WWE Women’s Championship match is up next. A video recap of the controversial Fabulous Moolah – Wendi Richter match was aired where Richter was double crossed and lost the Women’s Championship.
