-- WWE has officially released developmental talent Derek Neikrik today. Neikirk at one point was set to be groomed for the ECW brand when it was launched back in 2006 as part of a tag team with Ryan O'Reilly. The tandem worked some of the short lived ECW house shows, but beyond that never had any role on television.

Neikirk had been working in the developmental system since 2005, working for Ohio Valley Wrestling, Florida Championship Wrestling, and former developmental territory Deep South Wrestling.

As we reported earlier, there was fear among those who are in the developmental system of being releases were coming with the new year.
