-- ECW head writer Dave Lagana has been released today by World Wrestling Entertainment. There isn't much known about why his release was handed down.

There is also no word on who or if someone will replace him. It is possible that the Smackdown creative team could take over completely.

Lagana replaced Paul Heyman as the ECW head writer in December 2006. Prior to WWE, Lagana worked on such series as "Friends".
