Bobby Lashley has been telling friends that he has signed with a small mixed martial arts promotion on purpose with the intention of hoping to rank up with impressive wins and then move on to bigger companies such as UFC, Elite XC or Affliction, according to Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net. Bobby Lashley is confirmed to be fighting the American Fight League twice in a non-exclusive deal, meaning he will be able to continue accepting independent bookings.

Sources close to Bobby Lashley say that he doesn’t seem keen on TNA, even though people in TNA have been doing their best to recruit him. Lashley seems a lot more serious on his MMA career but will still continue to accept independent wrestling bookings. If TNA make Lashley a strong financial offer or if his MMA career doesn’t kick off, we could see things changing.
