Nothing has been announced yet regarding a Chris Jericho Intercontinental title defense at this Sunday's Night of Champions pay-per-view, but WWE does have plans for him to defend the belt against someone. At one point the plan was for Jeff Hardy to wrestle Jericho for the IC title, but due to his move to SmackDown, that plan has likely changed.

There is going to be a SmackDown Women's Championship match at Night of Champions. During the 6-women tag on SmackDown (which has already aired), Jim Ross and Mick Foley said on commentary that Natalya will be wrestling for the new Women's Championship at Night of Champions this Sunday. They said Vickie Guerrero will be choosing her opponent at the event.

Mick Foley confirmed on SmackDown broadcast that Melina has in fact fractured her heel.
