As noted earlier here on the site, due to numerous complaints,
WWE has decided to slow down the pace of the storylines. The Michaels/Jericho program is a good example of this. Also,
Randy Orton was originally tapped to be the leader of the DiBiase, Rhodes & Manu group within two or three weeks of the tease, but the angle is being slowed down with the idea it'll be more effective that way.
FOX and myNetworkTV are running a number of commercial spots promoting SmackDown's move to the station, even during NFL football broadcasts. There have been commercials promoting the WrestleMania special & Night of Champions, Triple H, Jeff Hardy, and the SmackDown Divas. All of the commercials with the exception of the Jeff Hardy one (which is also a local ad promoting an appearance this week in Maryland) have the "I Dare You" song by The Rock band Shinedown playing in the background. Still no official word yet if "I Dare You" will actually be the new theme song for SmackDown, but it definitely looks like it. The song may be familiar to some as WWE used it as a secondary song for WrestleMania 22.
The latest issue of WWE Magazine featuring various WWE stars on the cover has a article on the company's developmental promotion, Florida Championship Wrestling. WWE profiles a few of the developmental wrestlers including SmackDown Diva Brie Bella and her twin sister Nicole, who are both pictured. The two were also pictured in last month's issue as well in a group shot featuring FCW talent. It appears that WWE is still playing dumb on the gimmick even though it was obvious on last Friday's SmackDown that another woman was hiding under the ring as Nicole started crawling out when Brie hadn't fully gone under. In WWE.com's SmackDown recap, they wrote the following: "But Victoria quickly showed who was boss when she tossed the undefeated Bella from the top rope to the arena floor. The stunned brunette crawled under the ring, but emerged from under the apron with new vigor and attacked Victoria."
Smackdown did a 2.4 fast national rating last night. It's worth noting that CW was the only broadcast network not to air the debate Friday night, so the final rating for Smackdown is likely to change.
