Even though his profile was put back up on the
TNA website, Jimmy Rave is indeed parting ways with the organization. The same goes for Lance Rock/Hoyt. Technically, the two weren't released as their contracts are expiring in a few weeks and they simply won't be renewed. However, this may not be the end for Jimmy Rave in TNA as he still may be used on occasion for television, not to mention that he was given the impression that he could be brought back full-time in a few months. On the recommendation of Vince Russo, Rave was brought into the organization from Ring of Honor in August 2007. Russo knew of Rave as he had worked some indy shows for him in the past. Beer Money, Inc. has plans to continue the "Off The Wagon" challenge (loser leaves town match), so it would appear that Rave, and possibly Lance Rock, will be written out of TNA in that manner. That probably explains why their respective profiles were put back on the company website earlier this week after being pulled. While a number of people second guessed TNA's decision to part ways with Petey Williams, little was said regarding Rave and Lance Rock being let go. In another note, Rave worked last nights (Friday) house show in Macon, Georgia. He lost to Consequences Creed in the opening match.
As reported earlier, TNA wrestler Sheik Abdul Bashir married his longtime girlfriend this past Saturday. To add some more details, the wedding took place in Chicago as his bride is from the Windy City. TNA wrestlers Rhino and ODB, as well as recently released (yesterday) WWE Superstar Scotty Goldman, were in attendance at the wedding.
In this week's TNAWrestling.com webmatch, Roxxi takes on Knockout newcomer Madison Rayne. Rayne will be back on iMPACT! next week as she will be teaming up with Taylor Wilde to take on The Beautiful People in a Knockouts Tag Team Match. The show was taped last Tuesday night.
Mick Foley and Ted DiBiase Sr. were on TSN's Off the Record last night. TSN has a 6-minute podcast available, with host Michael Landsberg, Foley and DiBiase discussing the issue of steroids in sports. You can check that out at http://podcast.tsn.ca/
On Thursday night's edition of iMPACT!, they showed some of the video entries for the "Win A Night With ODB" Contest. One of the videos was of Cody Deaner as we noted yesterday here on the site. Deaner has been contracted to TNA since 2007, but never used. So the entire "contest" may be an angle to introduce Deaner into the company.
