- We start with Jeremy Borash looking for a scoop outside of Sting's locker room. Christian Cage walked up to Borash and asked if he has a mancrush on him because Borash is always hanging around the locker room area. Sting said his scoop is that he's ready to team with Sting tonight, but he'll be ready to fight him at the PPV.

- They recapped the events from last week including Jim Cornette throwing his authoritative weight around.

- Mike Tenay and Don West introduced the show. Tenay called Sting/Christian-Steiner/Jarrett a PPV main event caliber match.

1 -- SONJAY DUTT vs. HOMICIDE (w/Konnan and Hotstuff Hernandez)

Dutt came out for some lengthy face time. Spanish announcer Moody Jack did the introduction for Homicide, who came to the ring with Konnan and Hernandez from the Spanish announce position. They did a DX-style ring introduction with the picture flashing between LAX walking to the ring and political imagery. The action started hot with Dutt and Homicide reversing and countering. Dutt hit a flip dive on the outside one minute in. Back in the ring, Konnan helped Homicide regain the advantage through unbecoming means. Homicide went for a top rope frog splash, but Dutt moved out of the way. Dutt hit a lift-up spinebuster then followed up with a springboard moonsault. Homicide countered a slam attempt into an Ace Crusher for a nearfall. Homcide went for the Cop Killa, but Dutt countered with an overhead flip reverse DDT. With the referee distracted by Konnan, Hernandez ran into the ring and delivered a suplex on Dutt. Homicide covered Dutt for the apparent win.

After the initial referee's decision, referee Slick Johnson hit the ring and called off the victory for Homicide. He reversed the decision, explaining to the original referee that LAX cheated to win. LAX beat down Dutt then Ron Killings ran to the ring to make the save. Ringside, Larry Zbyszko and Slick Johnson argued. Zbyszko told Slick to stop getting involved. Slick said he knows Zbyszko is uptight because of the upcoming hair-hair match so he was going to show Zbyszko how good he would look bald. Yes, the focus at the end of this was Zbyszko and Slick.

WINNER: Dutt via reversed decision in 5:00. The LAX ring intro was great because it felt unique and not another knock-off pyro introduction that shows where TNA isn't in the ballpark with WWE. Homicide looked strong here and Dutt had enough offense to look credible. Good match.

- They recapped Jim Cornette's decision from last week to disband Team Canada because they're under individual contracts and only came together because they're all from Canada. They showed backstage footage from "after the show" last week when D'Amore screamed and yelled at Cornette about the decision. Cornette said he would give Canada a chance to regain their stable status if they can win an eight-man tag match on next week's show. Canada got in Eric Young's face after he was more concerned about being fired rather than the status of the stable.

- Eric Young went to ringside and told Tenay and West that he was going to be fired. Tenay told Young that he isn't getting fired, but he has a chance to leave Canada for good. West said he has a win-win situation where if he scores a pin, he would have a title shot of his choice and if he loses, Canada is no more. Slick Johnson walked to the announce table and handed Tenay and West photoshopped pictures of Zbyszko bald. Young asked Slick for a favor to make sure he isn't fired. They handed out glossy photos of Zbyszko's baldness. This looked like amateur hour here.

- Shane Douglas gave Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens a pep talk in a pre-taped work out video. It was more like he was talking to himself.

[Commercial Break]

- They showed video from Rhino's speech at the TNA show at the ECW Arena back in June when Rhino said he chose TNA over "the competition" because TNA is the future of wrestling and he wanted to make a difference. Rhino did a backstage video promo where he dropped f-bombs (bleeped with the sound of crashing) and said he wasn't an actor to read points off a piece of paper, but a wrestler intent on kicking ass. Rhino said he isn't in it for the money, but to make a difference as the next big thing in TNA.

2 -- MONTY BROWN vs. KENNY KING

Back to 2004 we go for this Friday afternoon on FSN special nostalgia match. Bell. Power moves. Pounce. Pin. Bell. Don West said you know it's coming, but you can't stop it. Well, you can turn the channel. Brown took the mic after the match. He called out Samoa Joe, who he said has padded his record the last year. A good heel comment related to the pot calling the kettle black. Brown addressed everyone in the #1 Contender's match at the PPV. He said they would all feel the Pounce.

WINNER: Brown in 1:00.

- Borash was ready to use the superlatives, calling tonight's main event the biggest main event in Impact history. Jarrett and Steiner were ready for an interview. Jarrett said Sting was wrong about TNA in desperate straights if he regained the NWA Title. He said Sting and Christian wouldn't be able to co-exist tonight. Steiner addressed Samoa Joe. He said he dominated Joe during their PPV match. It would be nice if the guy who they're trying to establish as the next star of the company could rebut that. Borash reminded Steiner that if he wins the #1 Contender match, he would face Jarrett for the NWA Title. Steiner stopped short and stared at Jarrett. Jarrett told Borash to stop causing trouble. Jarrett walked off then Steiner gazed at Borash as if he were in thought. He slowly walked off after Jarrett. Nicely done to tease tension.

- In a pre-taped video, Kevin Nash talked about body bags while Johnny Devine videotaped Nash's promo. He felt the body bag as he spoke in ever-increasing and dramatic tones. He said, "The wrestling world will experience something that hasn't happened in...two weeks." Nice. Shelley and Devine did a slow clap as Nash reflected on the impending body bag stunt. Ringside, Tenay and West debated Nash's message.

- Nash, Shelley, and Devine walked to the ring with a body bag in a shopping cart. Devine and Shelley rolled the body bag into the ring. Nash took the ring and said Osama Bin Laden was in the bag. Nash said they would split the million dollar reward three-ways. They unzipped the body bag, revealing Chris Sabin, who was dressed to wrestle. I guess he walks around backstage in his trunks. "It's Osama Bin Sabin!" Nash declared. He instructed them to put the boots to Sabin. Jay Lethal made the save for Sabin as Nash bailed out of the ring. He cleared Devine and Shelley out of the ring then checked on Sabin. Tenay said Dutt/Sabin-Nash/Shelley has been signed for the PPV.

- Borash was backstage with Samoa Joe. Speaking of the next top star rebutting Steiner. Joe said Steiner can make up all the plans and scenarios he wants, but it all changes when it steps in the ring. He addressed Sting. Joe said Sting once was the man, but now he is looking at the man. Joe said Christian's whining won't save him from his offense. He addressed Steiner. Joe said now it's about hurting and humiliating Steiner. "I'm going to make your children cry because daddy can't come home anymore," he said. "I will ground you, I will pound you, and eventually I will choke you out." Gulp. Joe at his best.

- Steiner came out first for the main event. Jarrett had his separate ring introduction. West said Jarrett didn't earn it or deserve it. He explained that Cornette was forced to award it to Jarrett because he didn't want it to be held up. Yeah, that really makes sense. We can't have a vacated title because that's worse than Jarrett having the title. West said he believes Cornette is setting up Jarrett by lining up the baddest men on the planet to challenge Jarrett for the title. Much more reasonable.

3 -- JEFF JARRETT & SCOTT STEINER vs. Sting & Christian Cage

During Sting's ring intrudction, West and Tenay marveled at the crowd reaction for Sting. West said you know when a star walks into a stadium because of the reaction. Apparently, the Impact zone added 40,000 seats without anyone knowing it to turn it into a stadium. After Sting made his full ring entrance, Sting and Christian jumped the heels on the outside. Sting took Steiner's headdress and choked him with it. They entered the ring to officially start the match. Sting hit a drop kick on Steiner. Christian, who had more of a star quality look tonight than in past weeks, took a tag and worked on Steiner. Christian's offensive advantage was short-lived as Steiner caught him with a right hand to the face. Jarrett took a hot tag. Christian caught him with a sunset flip for the nearfall. He hit a sit-out powerbomb for another nearfall. Christian took Jarrett to the corner for ten punches. He stopped at four when Steiner yelled at him. That allowed Jarrett to escape then shove Christian off the turnbuckle to the floor. Hot opening three minutes.

[Commercial Break]

Jarrett jabbed Christian in the back with a steel chair on the outside out of the break. It's a TNA Rulz match, apparently. West said Jarrett may be despised and he may go about his business the wrong way, but he knows what he's doing. Steiner took a tag and slammed Christian. The fans chanted at him. Jarrett took a tag and dropped Christian on his back with a step through side suplex. Steiner took a tag and prevented Christian from making a tag. The heels continued to exchange tags to work on Christian. A double team attempt at 8:00 back-fired. Sting took the hot tag and cleaned house. Sting placed Jarrett in one corner and Steiner in the other then hit repeated Stinger Splashes. Sting stacked up the heels in one corner then hit one big Stinger Splash. Sting applied the Deathlock on Jarrett, but Steiner made the save. Sting dumped Steiner to the outside then Jarrett delivered a low blow out of the referee's sight. Jarrett hit the Stroke on Sting and had the pin, but the babyface Christian had to resort to heel tactics by pulling the referee out of the ring. Christian rammed Steiner into the ringpost on the outside. Christian and Jarrett fought up top. Christian bit Jarrett on the forehead then threw him down to the ring. Sting hit the Scorpion Deathdrop then Christian came off the top with a Frogsplash. Sting made the cover for the win.

Afterwards, Sting and Christian shared a mild hug in center ring. They saluted opposite corners. Steiner ran into the ring with the NWA Title and smashed it over Sting and Christian's heads. Steiner's head was busted open. Steiner took the NWA Title belt and draped it over the mat. He applied the Steiner Recliner on Christian then Samoa Joe ran to the ring to attack Steiner. Joe, wearing beach shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals, kicked Steiner to the outside. He brawled with him up the entrance ramp and through the tunnel. Security eventually separated both men backstage. On the opposite end of the Impact zone, Sting took Jarrett into the stands. He threw him into one of the walls supporting the bleachers, leaving a dent. Sting applied the Scorpion Deathlock after screaming at Jarrett that he would remove the cancer from TNA. Meanwhile, back in the ring, Christian held the NWA Title in his hand and smiled.

WINNERS: Sting & Christian in 11:00. Formula tag match that felt like a 2000 Nitro main event match with some established names and maybe one wrestler who they're trying to push. Christian played the role of Vampiro here. The action was hot throughout and, of course, Jarrett does his one job for the month so he can justify his push because he's a "team player". I'm not sure if Joe in beach attire was the right look, but it didn't hurt him in any way. Good conclusion to the show.

- They closed with a video promo on Team Canada facing do or die circumstances next week.
