New Details On Steroids Found In Wrestler's Home

Police investigate substances found in wrestler's former home

LOCUST GROVE, Ga. — Police are investigating after substances that appeared to be steroids were found in a home where a pro wrestler once lived.

Police say the items could be linked to wrestler Mike Hettinga, who wrestles for World Wrestling Entertainment under the name Mike Knox.

Judson Powell says he and his adult daughter had moved into the home and she was putting some things in an upstairs crawl space when she found two boxes. The boxes contained about 20 syringes and several bottles and vials of various substances. Some were labeled as steroids, he said.

The boxes also contained WWE contracts and other paperwork referring to Hettinga, Powell said.

Powell notified police, who took the objects for testing.

Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton said WWE officials are aware of the investigation involving the substances found in the home.

"We have spoken with WWE Vice President Richard Hering, who has offered to assist us in every way with the investigation," Bolton said.

In a statement sent to The Associated Press on Tuesday, WWE said four wrestlers have lived at the home and only one of them currently wrestles for the organization.

"This performer has denied to WWE officials, as well as to Henry County Police Department officials, that the items discovered in this home belonged to him," WWE said in the statement.

WWE also said that its wellness policy prohibits the use or possession of performance enhancing drugs.
