Update: The Latest On Sting & TNA - Heel Turn Note, More

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

A decision has yet to be made within TNA on what the plans are to do with Sting. The company has generally planned things out well in advance, but in this case Vince Russo wants to turn Sting heel because it would be the "double swerve" based on what has gone down on television recently.

The plan as told to some was to push Sting as a heel on television with Samoa Joe and AJ Styles questioning his motives, making the fans believe there is no way he will turn and then swerve them by having him go heel. It should be noted that Russo reportedly discussed these plans with Sting at the Victory Road PPV in Houston and Sting was not on board. So, the line backstage right now is that if Russo can convince Sting that going heel is a good move, he will. If Sting doesn't like the direction or plans in play, then he won't.

Many have pointed to Russo trying to turn Sting heel back in WCW and it turning out to be a huge flop with the fans continuing to cheer him. There are some that feel the booking of Samoa Joe as the babyface champion hasn't been done well and that by turning Sting heel it will give him a solid opponent possibly for Bound For Glory in October. Using AJ Styles in the mix could set up a possible Sting vs. Styles match before Sting would face Joe. Either way, plans are still said to be developing.
