TNA Spoils Title Change, New Talent Joining TNA, & More

TNA spoiled the main event of the Slammiversary pay-per-view with their own advertising for the August 7th live event in Biloxi, Mississippi at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The promotional poster for the event said that Kurt Angle would wrestle AJ Styles for the World Heavyweight Championship even though neither wrestler was champion when the poster was posted. It was also noted that Angelina Love's match against Awesome Kong will not be for the TNA Women's Knockout Championship match whereas Suicide's match will not be for the X Division Championship. Unlike WWE, TNA plans things months in advance and often sticks with said plans. They pretty much have to now since TV is being taped a month at a time. Anyway, there is a good chance we will see two titles changes within the next few weeks on iMPACT! or at the Victory Road pay-per-view.

Phil Shatter and Mikael Judas, two large independent wrestlers from the Southeast, were given short-term roles as the new on-screen security for Mick Foley. It remains unclear what will happen to Big Rocco (a/k/a Big Tilly) and Sally Boy (a/k/a Bruno Sassi), who were appointed the roles last month after being removed from The Main Event Mafia.

Last week's live event in Grand Rapids, Michigan drew 1,300 fans. This was the lone house show of the week.
