The Last Time Brock Lesnar Defended A World Title Against A Mexican Heavyweight
Source: FightLine.comUFC 121: Lesnar vs. Velasquez takes place this Saturday, October 23rd from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will attempt to successfully defend his title for a third-consecutive time, this time against unbeaten Cain Velasquez, who is looking to take Lesnar's belt and become the first Mexican-American heavyweight champion in fighting history.
FightLine.com has an article that features Brock Lesnar taking shots at Cain Velasquez's Hispanic heritage. While this isn't exactly news, the comments reminded me of the last time Lesnar defended a world championship against a Mexican heavyweight, and it didn't pan out too well for Lesnar.
Back in 2004, Lesnar would lose the WWE Championship to the late Eddie Guerrero at the No Way Out pay-per-view. It would be the last time that Lesnar would hold that belt. In the build-up to the match, Lesnar mocked Guerrero's Latin heritage, even dancing mariachi in building up to the match. You can catch a video of some of Lesnar's antics leading up to the match with Guerrero below:
