More On MVP's WWE Release + Beth Phoenix' Return

-- Regarding MVP's departure from WWE last Thursday, those close to the situation say he asked for his release from the company so that it would not occur during a future talent purge.
-- Beth Phoenix worked her first match in several months at last night's WWE Supershow event in Jackson, Tennessee. She and Melina defeated Maryse and Alicia Fox in a tag team match.
"The Glamazon" had not worked a match since losing the Divas Championship to Lay-Cool in a two-on-one handicap match on May 11. She tore her ACL in a match against Rosa Mendes the week before, resulting in the title switch.
She returned from injury two weeks ago at the Survivor Series to fend off Michelle McCool and Layla, who had attacked Natalya.
-- The WWE Supershow also featured two developmental talents in action as Jackson Andrews beat JTG while Mason Ryan lost to William Regal.
