Punk Influences Other Sports, Lita Note, Strikeforce Champ Booted & More
-- Qumar Zaman, former play-by-play announcer for the Lake County Fielders, a minor league baseball team near Chicago, went on a CM Punk-inspired rant on-air recently. Zaman quit his play-by-play job after a recent game, stating that he was upset about the organization's failure to pay him what he's owed, and talked about being "the voice of the voiceless." -- There is a blog on NFL.com comparing Steelers LB James Harrison recent comments toward commissioner Roger Goodell during a recent interview with Men's Journal to Punk's promo a few weeks back. -- FightLine.com is reporting that Zuffa Inc. (the parent company of the UFC and Strikeforce) has ousted Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem from the Grand Priz tournament. Overeem had made it to the semi-finals of the tourney by defeating Fabricio Werdum last month. Overeem had stated before being removed from the tournament that he had been threatened about being removed from the tournament, and that "I don't like to be threatened."
