Tito Santana Honored, Savage Inducted Into Another HOF, More

-- Merced Solis, better known as Tito Santana, was honored this past Saturday by the Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs (MCOHA) as a role model for the Hispanic Community at the organization's annual gala at the Westin in Morristown, New Jersey. Santana, who owns the distinction for earning the first victory in WrestleMania history, is the son of migrant workers who went on to become the first member of his family to graduate from college. Beyond his success in the wrestling ring, he went on to play professional football, become a Spanish-language announcer for the WWE, a published author, a business owner, and a highly respected Spanish teacher at Eisenhower Middle School in Roxbury, New Jersey. Solis was honored as an example of someone who took advantage of the opportunities this country gave him and has truly lived out the American Dream. Solis was presented the award by his eldest son, Matthew, who is a government lawyer in Washington D.C.

-- Devon "Hannibal" Nicholson competed in his final match earlier this month. Nicholson filed two separate lawsuits; one against Abdullah The Butcher for allegedly giving him Hepatitis C, and the other against WWE for not hiring him because he has the disease. -- POWW Entertainment presents WrestleRage IX on November 12th at The Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, Illinois. The show features The New Age Outlaws, X-Pac, Scotty 2 Hotty and Adam Pearce, amongst others. The organization will also induct Randy "Macho Man" Savage into the POWW/Chicago Hall of Fame Class of 2011, as his brother "Leaping" Lanny Poffo will accept the honors that night for Randy's induction.
