Below is an excerpt: "A lot of people may not realize this, but how I got into wrestling and everything that's happened in my wresting career came about because of my artistic ability," Lawler said. "The very first time I ever got to do anything connected with wrestling was just on a whim. I drew a bunch of caricatures, cartoons of the wrestlers, and I sent them – without any kind of expectations – to the TV station WHBQ in Memphis that aired the live wrestling show every Saturday morning."
