– Umanosuke Ueda, a legendary Japanese heel who also worked in the United States as Mr. Ito, passed away today at the age of 71. Ueda is best known as the manager and tag team partner of Tiger Jeet Singh when Singh. This was during the time when Singh was one of the top heels in Japan in the 70s and 80s, both for New Japan and then later All Japan Pro Wrestling. During his time Ueda headlined against Hulk Hogan, Antonio Inoki, Stan Hansen, The Funk Brothers, Giant Baba, Jumbo Tsuruta, Genichiro Tenryu and Riki Choshu. On behalf of all of us here on the website, I would like to extend our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mr. Ueda.
