As noted earlier, it's possible that Randy Orton's back injury didn't actually happen at Tuesday night's SmackDown tapings in the Falls Count Anywhere Match against Wade Barrett. The match ended when Barrett threw Orton down a flight of stairs.

The scripted spot with Orton going down the stairs makes it appear that Orton had a pre-existing injury. Also, since the December 19th RAW, Orton has been put in positions where he hasn't had to do a lot of physical work on TV due to the back issues.

As noted before, Sheamus will be taking Orton's place in SmackDown live events this week against Barrett. WWE has also moved Primo and Epico vs. Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston to the SmackDown tour to help solidify the line-ups with Randy Orton out of action. The WWE Tag Team Champions reportedly debuted another new theme song at Wednesday night's live event in Detroit.

Also as noted earlier, it was announced at Wednesday night's WWE SmackDown live event in Detroit, Michigan that Randy Orton will be out of action for six months, meaning he will most likely miss WrestleMania 28. We reported earlier that it was possible Orton would be out six months due to what we believe is a torn disk in his back.

WWE will be offering refunds at SmackDown live events to anyone who wants them, since Orton won't be appearing.
