Chaz: The gimmick had one match because they got hit with lawsuits and so they killed it right away. That's when they had me do the Chaz gimmick. When they had me do the Chaz gimmick, just a happy kid from Jersey, the whole idea was to wait for Glen to come back and for us to tag again so that's where that was heading. I just wasn't thrilled with the girl I was put with. We didn't have that good chemistry together so I think that kind of hurt the whole singles thing as well. Again, the whole thing was leading to a Headbanger reunion anyway.
WrestlingINC: When you guys came back you dressed in drag for a little bit.
Chaz: We wore cones, yes.
WrestlingINC: Was that a company idea?
Chaz: That was a Vince McMahon idea.
Glen: Whatever he says, you do it.
WrestlingINC: Who were some of your favorite guys to work with back then?
Glen: The Godwinns and the Outlaws.
Chaz: Oh my God, yeah. They were by far the two best and the two favorite teams to work with.
WrestlingINC: Do you have any crazy stories you can share? Anything funny that happened in the ring or…?
Chaz: I don't know if it's crazy but one of the funniest parts, at least with the Godwinns, is we worked each other so much so many times. It was like second nature. One of the things we used to laugh at is Phineas and I used to do this thing where he'd spit in the air, catch it in his hand and wipe it through his hair and everybody would boo. I would spit in the air, catch it in my mouth and the people would cheer. You think it'd be the total opposite. That was the fun stuff, the chemistry that we had with each other.
Glen: The Country Whoopin' matches where… we had 12 foot whips…
Glen: Straps and we would just lay it into each other and we would come back and everybody was like, 'Oh my God. That's so crazy.' It was just a lot of fun. We meshed with them. We meshed with the Outlaws. We fit together. We had some really good matches with the Dudley Boyz also.
Chaz: That's the thing with us. Our style mixes well with anyone. We can do the flying around stuff. We can dive over the top rope. We can come off the top rope. We can do all the air boom stuff where you're flying around. At the same time we're ground and pound attack. We can do that too. Our style - the way we wrestle and what we do - meshes with anybody really.
Make sure to check back tomorrow for part two of the interview, where The Headbangers talk about the current product, TNA and a possible return to WWE.
