Zimmerman referred to Shays' comment to reporters that "41 people 50 years and younger have died in their jobs (in WWE)." He responded that only five "performers" have died under WWE contract since the company was formed in 1982. He did not mention wrestlers who developed health issues before leaving the company.
The letter ended with, "We would greatly appreciate it if you would stick to factual statements about our organization and brand."
