Eric Bischoff is shown peeking over the apron, smiling and laughing. I have to say, this PPV went from really good, to really bad, really quickly. Hopefully the main event will bring things back. Bischoff and Gunner make their way to the back, gloating, while Hogan checks on Garrett, with concern on his face, in the ring.
Tenay and JB immediately turn their attention to Garrett Bischoff's "amazing performance" where he showed "lots of heart". They also offer up a couple of defenses for his performance before sending things backstage to Christy Hemme who's standing with Sting. Sting says he wanted to make sure everyone in the match tonight is on their best behavior. He says he'll make sure Bobby Roode doesn't walk away conveniently from the match by cheating. He says there'll be a clean cut winner, and it's showtime.
TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Robert Roode vs. James Storm vs. Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy
We get a video package looking at all four men competing in the World Title match tonight. Each man gets a decent amount of interview time, with footage of them interacting interspersed. Tenay and JB run down the "Tale of the Tape", showing some quick key stats for each man, and previewing some of the elements of tonight's match, including the inclusion of Sting as special enforcer.
Speak of the devil, the special guest enforcer, Sting, is the first man to make his way out to the ring. Interestingly, it looks like he'll probably get a formal ring introduction along with everyone else. Sting gets an overwhelmingly positive reaction from the crowd. Bully Ray is out next, and the crowd don't seem to care either way about seeing the big man.
Bully jaws with Sting while James Storm's music hits, and the second challenger for the title makes his way out from the back. Storm gets a nice pop from the crowd on his way out, but you have to think it would have been nice to hold off Sting's entrance as everyone else's entrance seems subdued compared to his.
Jeff Hardy is the final challenger to make his way out. He gets a pretty enthusiastic reaction from the crowd, but it still seems like Sting got the pop of the night. Hardy has eyes painted on his eyelids, and he takes some time to show off this handiwork before slapping hands with the fans on his way to the ring.
The TNA World Champion, Robert Roode, is the final man to make his way out to the ring. Roode seems to get a negative reaction, but again in comparison to Sting's and Hardy's, it's really hard to hear.
Christy Hemme performs formal ring introductions for everyone (well, except Bully Ray as he does his own introduction), and after quick a bit of fanfare, and what seems like an excessive amount of stalling on tonight's show, we're ready for the main event.
Roode tries to forge an alliance with Bully Ray right away, telling him that they can work together. Ray doesn't look too enthusiastic about the idea. Roode looks reluctant to hand over his title, but he gives it to the ref eventually. The bell rings and Roode continues to try and talk things over with Ray. All four men square off and Ray drops to the outside and crosses his arms. Ray looks at Roode, who turns around into right hands from both Storm and Hardy. They whip Roode into the ropes and hit a double back elbow.
Hardy hits a sit out front suplex and Storm follows up with a neck breaker. Storm and Hardy stomp away at Roode in the corner before choking the champ with their boots. Hardy and Storm call Ray to the ring, but he's not coming yet. Hardy and Storm whip Roode into the corner. Hardy whips Storm into the ropes, and launches himself off of Storm's back with a dive. Storm rolls up Hardy for a two count, so Hardy returns the favor. Roode goes to the top, but he's stopped by Storm and Hardy who hit a double team slam from the top. They turn around into a double clothesline from Ray.
