Former TNA Star Captures IWGP Championship, Steve Martin A Wrestling Fan?, Kane

– Kazuchika Okada, who appeared as Samoa Joe's masked henchman Okato for TNA Wrestling last year, is the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

Okada ended Hiroshi Tanahashi's record 13-month reign as champion Sunday at New Japan Pro Wrestling's The New Beginning pay-per-view event in Osaka, Japan. The show also saw Davey Richards and Rocky Romero regain the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship from Prince Devitt and Ryusuke Taguchi.
